The CreaDev department just recently had a great opportunity to attend the conference, An Event Apart (Nov. 1-2) a two day conference for the very passionate and very dedicated website designers, coders and many other professionals. The core essence of An Event Apart is to expand and share knowledge of website coding, design, usability, content and many other spheres of influence that revolve around the development and growth of website design and the Internet itself. The two hosts of An Event Apart are founder, Eric Meyer and co-founder, Jeffrey Zeldman, two great visionaries that have contributed and influenced many parts of website standards and website design world.
The conference was packed with 12 amazing speakers, who’s every word sparked ideas, inspiration, clarity and great amounts of fun. Topics revolved around the new upcoming standards for HTML5, CSS3, usability, content strategy, web design, mobile, interactivity, progressive enhancement, progressive enrichment and more. Furthermore, each of the speakers provided so much more than just a lesson, they planted a seed in each of their listeners to enrich and blow our minds away about how much website design and the Internet has evolved from 20years ago to where it is now, where mobile will (has already) become the dominator of the web. Have you always wanted to move that Drupal block or view over into the content, but always felt it might be difficult to do so? Well if you didn’t know already, there are modules that will do just that. Those two modules are Insert Block and Insert View. Both modules provide an easy short syntax that will allow you to insert a specified block or view into your content easily. With both these modules you are given more flexibility to place block/view content on specific areas instead of standard block areas or view pages, which is limiting.
